The Fair Housing Act protects people from discrimination when they are renting, buying, or securing financing for any housing. The regulation specifically covers discrimination because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability and the presence of children.

It is the policy of D&E to comply fully with all federal, state and local nondiscrimination laws and to operate in accordance with the rules and regulations governing Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity in housing and employment. Explicitly, D&E shall not on account of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, family status, disability or ages deny any family or individual the opportunity to apply for or receive assistance under HUD's Program.

Filing a complaint is FREE and is the right of individuals and community groups to bring forth possibilities of housing discrimination.
